Agrochemical Residues Analysis

Agrochemical Residues Analysis

After application of plant protection agents, residues may remain in and on the plant, and may also remain in the soil. To protect consumers, regulatory authorities worldwide have strict regulations on the amount of residues that can be allowed in food. The analysis of plant protection products residues in fruit and vegetable crops is extremely important for the protection of animal and human health. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the identity, characteristics and potential toxicity of parent compounds, degradation products or metabolites in agricultural chemical is required. BOC Sciences is able to perform residue analysis for many types of agrochemical products, identify residues in crops and assess the risk to operators when using these products.

Our Services

BOC Sciences supports the testing of a wide range of crop protection products for different plants and livestock. Our analytical chemists have expertise in method development and method validation, and can design customized multi-residue testing protocols for active ingredients and metabolites.

  • Crop residue studies
  • Crop processing studies
  • Field soil abatement studies
  • Soil accumulation studies
  • Environmental fate support
  • Ecotoxicological support
  • Plant metabolism support
  • Operator exposure studies

GLP-compliant Residue Chemistry Studies

We determine the residue behavior of chemicals by conducting residue analysis studies prior to approval, and submit the high-quality data that meet the requirements. Our residue data can be used for dietary risk assessment and determination of maximum residue levels.

Residue Characterization Studies

Residue characterization studies determine the metabolites that remain in crops after simulated use of the test item, or in livestock after a defined exposure period. Our laboratories offer a range of state-of-the-art analytical instruments and capabilities to obtain accurate residue chemistry data.

Comprehensive Facilities

Our team is able to provide consistent and reliable residue analysis data by utilizing high specification equipment, and we have been equipped with a full range of analytical equipment for quantification of active ingredients and metabolites.

  • Sample receipt and preparation area
  • Sample extraction and clean-up facilities
  • Mobile analysis for sample preparation on operator exposure studies
  • Large storage facilities

BOC Sciences Advantages

  • Highly specialized technical and analytical services for the worldwide registration and regulatory compliance of agrochemicals
  • Robust analytical testing programs that span from research and product development through the production process to final product
  • Relies on broad industrial experience, ensuring that all of our work meets the high standards expected by our clients
